We’re giving away $10,000!!
Yep you read that right! 2011 marks our 15th Anniversary but instead of showering ourselves with gifts - we want to spoil one lucky community group with 10,000 BIG ONES!
What’s the catch? None.
The money simply must be used toward a community project and all we want from you to apply to for you to tell us about your project and how you would use the money (in 500 words or less).
The deadline is October 1, 2011 and after we, the employees of New Dawn review each entry, we’ll announce the winner by November 15, 2011.
What are you waiting for? Start working with your court or agency and come up with a great community project that could use this money!

last week, I joined Marc Weinstein at the Hands Across the Border conference in New England. The conference was small but fun and we met some great people from Canada!!

I love the weather here…does Fall get any better than this?

So it’s time to prepare. What does that mean for a giraffe? Well, I for one have some diet adjusting to do. I normally just eat greens. Lots and lots and LOTS of greens but since I’ve lived in Cache Valley for more than a year now I’ve trained my stomach to like…other things since soon greens won’t be readily available.
Instead of heading outside to help our lawn boy out by maintaining the bushes myself - I head to the cafeteria where I have a supply of oats. Yep, oats. Who would have thought that a giraffe would actually LIKE oats!? My cousin the horse would be so proud. (sorry mom - I know we aren’t really “cousins” but hey we’re all family!)

Mmmm Oats!
What are you excited for during Winter?

Our customers crack me up! More than one person actually guessed that yesterday I was the little ceasars guy!! Nope. wrong. Did you guess?
The right answer? I was from the Colesseum!
Well today I’m someone new. Don’t forget I represent one of the wonders of the world…but which one?

This week is our annual JustWare Training Conference. This is when all of our customers are invited to come learn more about Justware, New Dawn, and find additional ways to make their workloads lighter!
During this week - I some how got roped into helping with a game for attendees. I dress up as something different every day and they have to guess which of the wonders of the world I am representing. This is my costume from yesterday:

Which of the wonders of the world do you think I’m representing!?

I’m a giver. We all know this. I like to help people (especially when it’s something I’ve never done!) so I recently helped Chris, one of my co-workers, do some work on his new house.
Why do contractors build during the winter? It’s insane. Especially in Logan’s winter.
I was incredibly helpful. By that I mean that I don’t have any idea what I was helping with because I’m not a building-things kind of giraffe but I was amazing at cutting things and moving things from one pile to another. So maybe I could be considered a building-things kind of giraffe? You think?
I helped until my legs turned into solid blocks of ice (notice I braved it without a scarf or coat) which was for hours…okay it was maybe two hours tops. But still…I think I can be a mans-man-giraffe now.
Need help with any projects? I’ll help - but only if it ISN’T building a house in the dead of winter.

After all this talk about the “happiest place on Earth” I decided it was about time I checked it out myself. Being a giraffe at DisneyLand definitely has it’s perks. I got to ride all the rides without waiting in huge lines, taste some amazing disney treats, and spend some time in California.
My favorite ride was the Tower of Terror - I think we went on it 30 times…
I went with Dru from our marketing department and his roommates. Us five hit up DisneyLand, California Adventure, and the beach. It was one of the best week’s ever.
Have you ever been to DisneyLand? What’s your favorite ride?

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. Sorry. Things have been busy - but that’s no excuse. But the real excuse was that I haven’t even been in the country. That’s right. I went on my first international business trip to Australia!!
I went over to spend some time with our new customers the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Perth, Australia. It was awesome. I saw kangaroos, or wallaby’s I’m not really sure but they were great. They stared at me funny - seeing as how I’m a giraffe and all.
I tried my best to come back with an Australian accent but it sounds more like a goat with an identity crisis then it does Australian. One of the developers even told me that maybe I should practice it at home before trying to bring it to work. Crap. I guess it’s THAT bad.
While I saw and did lots of fun things in Australia - I was horrible at taking pictures.
Hanging out with my good friend Roo at the local watering hole.
You can see how big Roo really is - I barely even show up!
Notice something missing in the pictures?? SNOW!! That was my favorite part about Australia! No. Snow.
I’ll be going back in the next few months to help them with more JustWare stuff so you can bet that next time I’m there I will be taking lots of pictures!
Have you ever been to Australia?

Today we celebrated my birthday with the entire company - it was pretty amazing.
The Marketing team threw me a pirate themed party complete with pirate hats, a pirate cake, eye patches, and huge pirate balloons. Everyone who came wore a pirate hat or an eye patch, had some cake and ice cream, and talked with the best of their pirate ability.
I love parties especially when they’re thrown for me! I think my birthday should come twice a year…or more.
